Ignacio Blanco

Ignacio Blanco studied geology at Imperial College London. His interest in the relationship between the surrounding community and the mine lead him to choose Environment & Development as a master’s course completed in 2000. Since then he has worked in Argentina and Spain supervising environmental engineering projects in mine sites. Ignacio has been involved in the third sector since 2003, being a founding member of Stichting Enviu Nederland and in particular its practical research program based on sustainable tourism in the extreme south of Chile. Since then he has been working on the foundation of Sustento, as well as delving into projects related to micro enterprise development with the Chilean government. As director of Sustento he is the stable factor that maintains all contacts and acts on project possibilities when he encounters them.

Sharon Hesp

Sharon Hesp studied environmental science in Holland with a specialisation in Environment & Economy. She graduated for her master’s degree in 2004. After university Sharon started working as a project coordinator for NCDO. A Dutch organisation that dedicates itself to building a platform for development cooperation. As such she managed communication projects focused on Dutch youth. Working as an Organisational Developer for Sustento she focuses on getting the organisation up and running with a strategic plan, website and innovative projects.
