Sustento uses three tools to realize its mission, vision and objectives.

The projects include campaigns and education to reach a larger audience than only the stakeholders. | More and more stakeholders are aware of the concept ‘sustainable development’ and ways to attain it. | Stakeholders work together to implement sustainability in their daily practice (Sustento’s first objective). | | Forming networks and positioning the organisation | Meetings are held in which stakeholders exchange information and experience. Connections between Sustento and different stakeholders are nursed. Website and newsletters are used to disseminate information and show Sustento’s work. | Information about sustainable practice is disseminated among stakeholders. | The information is being used to implement sustainable solutions (Sustento’s third objective). | Generating ideas and supporting volunteers | Vacancies are posted to attract volunteers. Media and network is used to stay up to date with (international) developments in the field of sustainability. | Volunteers and inspiring developments generate fresh ideas and knowledge that enhance project outcome. | Projects have a higher change of success while students participate in the process of forming sustainable solutions (Sustento’s second and fourth objective). |
